About Us

VKS has been operating since 1991 and we have filmed over 550 weddings. We have carefully trained operators, the latest digital cameras, and high-tech, non-linear editing equipment. Operating predominantly south of the A40 (Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, London, Kent, Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire, Wiltshire, Avon, Somerset, Devon and Dorset), we are nevertheless happy to film much further afield, as can be seen from this list of Weddings we have filmed.

Our Philosophy

The VKS philosophy is about providing an evocative record of every aspect of the day that you would like, without getting in the way of yourselves or your guests, so that everyone can enjoy the occasion without distraction. Thus, we do not use shoulder-mounted cameras because they are just too large and obvious and can block guests' view.

Most wedding videographers will declare they are unobtrusive and discreet, but many of them try to produce a Hollywood-style film which, by necessity, requires on-site direction, stage management and sometimes additional power, lighting and microphones. At VKS, we use no additional power, no lights and no noise. We rely on considerable experience and expertise to determine exactly what is wanted and how to capture it. More often than not, we will capture scenes and events during the day that you may well have missed. Much of the filming effort is spent on people - those who attend this wonderful celebration of your marriage with you. The team will liaise closely with the official photographer, caterer, best man and master of ceremonies, all to ensure discreet filming and absolutely no interruption. Peter Garbutt (our Editor) will put the whole film together, concentrating on people and events rather than objects. His primary aim is to bring creativity to the final edit with the minimum amount of visual effects - which so often distract the eye from enjoying the detail.
